Change your thoughts to change your world

Katie Stumbo - Monday, March 02, 2009
I want to thank you for your great class.  I LOVE IT!!!  I try not to have expectations when I go into things, but had I had an expectation about your class, it would have be FAR exceededJ  I am a huge believer in the mind, body, spirit connection and after just 2 classes, I am already starting to feel stronger and more confident in all areas of my life.  Thank you for making a difference in my life and so many others! J

your thought process has a lot to do with your success, whether that be career, fitness, family or life goals and dreams! Take for example this testimonial!! First day of class I have only ever talked to this wonderful woman over the phone. She sounds enthusiastic and excited to get started but she made a few statements about her body that made me realize it was more her mind set than her body that needed working on.

As she states her expectations were low and they were blown out of the water! What have you done to change your mind today??

All Stars shout out goes to:

  • - Tara, Still waiting for your song selection
  • - Jean, still waiting for your song selection
  • - Kathe Gush, Animal City by Shakira
  • - Katie, Pump it by Blacked Eyed Peas
  • - Katie, Whenever, wherever by Shakira

Congratulations everyone on your all star picks. Keep up the good work and as your mind changes your body will follow.

Reuse a Shoe

Katie Stumbo - Monday, February 23, 2009
Hey everyone!!!
Lets not only make this our healthiest year but also our most enviromentally friendly year! There are tons of ways to give back and save our wonderful planet. I have found a wonderful program that makes it as simple as a trip to a drop station or the post office!!!

Check it out!

I love this program because I go through so many pairs a shoes every year and I always think when its time to throw them away that it is such a waste of space... For those of you already in my classes or that I see on a regular basis you can just give me your old shoes, I will be making one trip a month down to the drop station in Phoenix........

Muscle confusion at it's finest

Katie Stumbo - Tuesday, February 03, 2009

Hello Friends and BootCampers,
We are well into week 5 of New Years Resolution BootCamp! I know this week you are going to be feeling sore and tired. We have been training one specific way for 4 full weeks and you walk into class on Monday and Im teaching a totally new style of class. Like more things there is a method to my madness.

By 4 weeks your body has started to adapt to the specific stresses that we have made put it under so, in order to prevent muscle strains, over use injurys bordom and platues we have moved from cardio intertwined with strength training. We are now having 2 distinct portions of class, resistance and then cardio. This is really going to confuse the body and I am really excited about the gains you will all make this last week and a half!

I would like to take a moment and highlight 2 of my bootcampers who have weathered the transition very well! I am not saying you didnt struggle and that it wasnt hard for them, however, They put there heads down and went to work!!!!!!

Alta- You are a brick, I am constantly amazed at your strength and your desire to over come during class. I only had to under estimate you once!!!

Shannon- You started 4 weeks behind the rest of my BootCampers!! You made it through class and still came back, Way to go. I am really excited to see your body change over the next few weeks!!!

You all deserve a pat on the back and as has been my delima for the last 4 weeks you are all doing so amazingly well that I cant pick just one of you to be all star. I want each and every one of you to submit a song request and that song will be played at the begining of a class this week or next.

Week two!

Katie Stumbo - Thursday, January 15, 2009

Hello BootCampers,

We have just completed week two of our 6 week program! We are all getting really comfortable performing some of the harder routines. Let’s take a deep breath and get ready for Monday.  Weeks 3 and 4 usually tend to be the toughest weeks mentally. Let’s band together to motivate and inspire each other to work towards our best bodies ever! Swimsuit season will be here before you know it!

I want you all to do some cardio and a lot of stretching this weekend. Work on getting 20 - 30 minutes of cardio in. Cardio could be anything you find fun and stimulating, walking, running, tennis, swimming, a bike ride, anything that gets your heart rate up and keeps it up for the duration. I will be going for a short jog on Sunday morning if anyone is interested in joining me......................  As far as the stretching goes make sure you stretch AFTER your cardio.

I want to give a shout out to a few BootCampers, who particularly stood out this week,

Barbara

JD

Kathe

Randy

They pushed past anything they have been used to and they stuck with the program to come out at the end of the session beaming because they endured and are well on their way to seeing the changes that they want to see. Congratulations and keep up the good work, it could be your name up next week….

Gym challenged

Katie Stumbo - Thursday, December 18, 2008
Have you ever walked into a gym looked around at all the beautiful people and wondered what made them put on makeup before heading out the door to workout? To me working out should be a fun, sweaty, grunt inducing, heavy breathing affair. I have been working out in one form or another for 16 years!! Wow time flys and of those 16 I have belonged to a gym for only 3 years. I prefer to find a place I can let me hair down perspire and grunt without feeling self conscience or ridiculous. That is what led me to start my very own BootCamp class! We run, we yell, we grunt and yes sometimes we even sing!!!! If your workout is dull or boring then you are doing the wrong kind of workout. Find something that inspires you to your own level of greatness and embrace it!! Live it Love it
